There has been a huge interior design trend for at least a year or two where fake (or sometimes real) antlers and even faux animals heads are used to decorate walls and I admit I've quite liked the look. Until now.

If I see anymore rooms with antlers in them, I think I'm going to scream!
Enough already, I say.

Does anyone else feel the same way?
I totally agree, overkill!!
ReplyDeleteIm with you Jane, its not a look Ive ever been into & that first image really has no appeal at all in my opinion!
ReplyDeletehave a great week!!
That and the macarons I see EVERYWHERE... not that you'd put those on your walls I suppose...
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, yes!
ReplyDeleteThey are driving me nuts!
How does it express an owner's personality if it is a copy of 1000 other homes???
{Also agree about the macarons...can't we eat something other than cupcakes or macarons???}
Just realised this makes me sound grumpy....see what those antlers do to a perfectly sane {I think} woman?
Yeah, I'm not a fan, but I've never been a fan of the dead animal look. I even really dislike those cow hide rugs. I just can't walk on them! Yuck!!
ReplyDeleteI agree dead animals are not appealing. Also numbers... why is everyone numbering their stairs and hooks and bedroom doors... I mean I like to guess how many stairs there are and now there's no need.
ReplyDeleteWow, I didn't realise there was quite so much hatred out there for these things! And I like the pun, Joss, in your use of the word 'overkill'!
ReplyDeleteI think it's about scale and boldness. I think a small antler on a side table with books and a candle looks a lot more polished and natural than a giant head on the wall or oversized antler display.
ReplyDeleteNo not a fan. Maybe if I was in a ski lodge somewhere very, very cold, with a roaring fire a set of antlers may add to the vibe. Otherwise no. A firm no!
